To become a member at First Baptist Church, you are encouraged to first take our Membership Class.  All those who wish to become a member of the church must have trusted in Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and received believer's baptism.  We believe that every member of the visible, local Body of Christ should first become a member of the universal, invisible body by faith.  It is by faith alone that we are justified, forgiven, and cleansed.  We receive the Spirit of God the moment we trust in Christ and are united to him, becoming a member of his Body.

Likewise, we become a member of the local church by the outward sign of faith, baptism.  Baptism bears witness to the fact that we have died with Christ and been raised to new life in him.  As followers of Christ we should each desire to be in covenant fellowship with his people.  That happens when we become members of a local church.
