To become a member at First Baptist Church, you are encouraged to first take the course, "Discovering First Baptist Church." Also known as C.L.A.S.S. 101. C.L.A.S.S. 101 will cover the folliwng areas:
1. Our Salvation (What God has done for us)
- What it means to be a Christian
- The symbols of salvation: Baptism and Communion
2. Our Statement (Why we exist as a Church)
- Our purpose statement
- Our faith statement
- Our lifestyle statement
3. Our Strategy (How we fulfill our purpose)
- The story of First Baptist Church's beginnings
- Whom we are trying to reach
- Circles of commitment and four covenants
- F.I.R.S.T. Baptist strategy
4. Our Structure (When and where we fulfill our purpose)
- How our Church is structured
- Our affilation
- What it means to be a member
After completion of the course, you may come forward during any one of the worship services to be received by the congregtion. You will either come by your statement of faith as a new believer, by transferring membership from another Church, or by baptism. FBC holds to believer's baptism by immerison for membership.
